Dominate my springers CV

Sup,

I'm currently applying for spring weeks 2025. I'm open to IB, S&T, PE, VC, whatever, really. I don't get how my mates can say stuff like, "IB is right for me; I would never do x or y." Like, bro, you haven't stepped foot inside the lobby yet.

Anyhow, feel free to critique all areas of my CV (formatting, spelling, experiences, ECs, etc.).

I'm also not a native English speaker, so please be on the lookout for grammatical errors or poorly structured sentences/flow.

Nuff said, Go Gunners!

Edit for more consistent formatting, British spelling, and some other bits and bobs. Also thought it might seem more formal/accurate to highlight the equestrian club and JA under a separate EC section, but let me know.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some key points to consider when refining your CV for spring weeks 2025:

Formatting and Structure

  • Clean Formatting: Ensure your CV has clean formatting with correctly aligned text. Avoid using overly styled CVs and stick to professional fonts like Helvetica or Garamond.
  • Spacing: Increase the spacing between lines to make your CV feel lighter and more readable.
  • No Pictures: Do not include pictures on your CV.

Content

  • Professional Experience: Highlight roles where you've worked under paid, professional discipline and had to pass through an interview process. Avoid listing planned accomplishments.
  • Achievements Over Responsibilities: Focus on what you achieved in your roles rather than just listing your tasks and responsibilities.
  • Numbers and Metrics: Include numbers and metrics to quantify your accomplishments and make your contributions clear.
  • Relevant Experience: Prioritize relevant experiences and internships. If you have strong names in the PE/banking/HR universe, highlight them as they show you could get through their interview processes.

Bullet Points

  • Value-Adding Bullet Points: Each bullet point should add value. If a bullet point does not add value, it makes the CV look less mature.
  • Reflect Importance: The number of bullets per section should reflect the importance you attribute to it. Avoid having too many bullets for less relevant activities.

Extracurricular Activities (ECs)

  • Leadership Experience: Try to include more leadership experiences to strengthen your CV.
  • Avoid Fluff: Do not include vague descriptions or fluff. Be specific about your roles and achievements.
  • Interests: If you are running out of space, leave out the 'Interests' section. If included, ensure they are unique, involve active participation, and are not controversial.

Common Pitfalls

  • White Space: Avoid having too much white space on your CV.
  • Non-Relevant Jobs: Leave out non-relevant jobs unless they explain gaps or lower grades.
  • Skills Section: Avoid listing fluffy skills like "Problem solving" or "Time management" without demonstrating them through your work experience.

Grammar and Flow

  • Grammatical Errors: As a non-native English speaker, pay extra attention to grammatical errors and poorly structured sentences. Consider having a native speaker review your CV.
  • Clear and Concise: Ensure your sentences are clear and concise. Avoid overly complex language.

Additional Tips

  • No Intro Paragraphs: Skip the intro paragraphs on your CV. Recruiters prefer to see your experience laid out clearly.
  • Avoid Cringe-Worthy Content: Do not include anything that might make you or the reader cringe, such as overly personal hobbies or exaggerated job descriptions.

For a more detailed review, consider using the WSO Resume Review Service, which has been highly recommended by users who have successfully secured positions in the industry.

Good luck with your applications, and Go Gunners!

Swedish academy called Ängelholms FF. Used to be a real goldmine for pushing players to Allsvenskan (Swedish Prem) and have a quite decent men's team as well. Sadly they've dropped off a bit recently.

So not exactly Arsenal if that was your expectation.
