3 month stint - Gap in Resume / How to Handle

I did investment banking for 2 years at a BB in the US and wanted to try something different/interesting after doing my 2 years of IB. I went abroad to a company in Europe (unrelated to a sector that I was covering in IB). Unfortunately, the company I joined blew up 3 weeks into the job (CEO resigned and CFO who was my hiring manager resigned, funding was pulled) and my position was eliminated. I was technically employed there for 3 months once they offboarded me.

Do you think I should include it in my resume? If I leave it off, there will be a 7 month gap, as opposed to a 4 month gap if I keep it on. It has been 2.5 years now since this happened, did 1 year at another firm, and am in grad school now (the stint is irrelevant to what i am studying now). Despite the circumstances being out of my control, I have found that employers always ask me why I decided to go to this company or why i went abroad and it seems to bring up more questions?

I figured if I leave it off, employers will ask me about the gap and how do i address the gap (just put years on my resume)? How should I present this on LinkedIn? Not sure how to handle this one. Any insight on this is really appreciated. It's worth noting that this company doesn't have a good reputation after everything that happened so I feel more comfortable leaving it off just at a first glance. If I leave it on, I was thinking of putting a bullet point on my resume "Position eliminated due to circumstances beyond my control".
