GPA on Resume

Question, entering final rounds for an An1 role at an EB/BB, worried about this issue on resume. GPA was 3.65 from soph to beginning of senior year, always had it as a 3.7 on resume. Grades came out for fall sem senior year in mid jan 2026, gpa fell to 3.642, slipped my mind and forgot to change it on resume, applied to role late feb with 3.7 still on resume. Figured it was such a small change and was insignficant so didnt follow up with a new copy with new gpa after applying.

Will this be grounds to rescind my offer if i get one? I wasn't even asked for gpa on the application, and there was no min requirement on the role either. I grad in a few weeks. Not sure if I'm overthinking this or not.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know:

A minor discrepancy like this (3.7 vs. 3.642) is unlikely to result in your offer being rescinded, especially since the difference is minimal and there was no GPA requirement for the role. However, it’s important to handle this carefully to avoid any potential issues:

  1. Proactively Address It (If Necessary): If you’re asked to submit a transcript or if the discrepancy comes up, be honest and explain that it was an oversight. You can mention that the difference is negligible and was not intentional.

  2. Avoid Drawing Attention: If they don’t ask for your GPA or transcript, it’s best not to bring it up unnecessarily. Many firms focus more on your interview performance, experience, and fit rather than a small GPA difference.

  3. Learn for the Future: While this situation is minor, always ensure your resume is fully accurate moving forward. Even small discrepancies can raise questions about attention to detail or integrity in more competitive scenarios.

In summary, you’re likely overthinking this. As long as you’re transparent if asked and don’t make a habit of such oversights, this shouldn’t jeopardize your offer. Good luck with your final rounds!
