IBD/PE/S&T Resume, No SA internship yet...Massacre it.
Hey guys, thanks for even taking the time to open this thread. I'm currently in my third year at a non-target still looking for that summer analyst position. Since I do go to a non target, I've been cold-emailing, cold calling like crazy.
I haven't had much luck at all and I'm beginning to wonder if maybe it's my resume that's the problem.
So if you guys could take a look, and rip it to shreds, I'd be really grateful.
Make each bullet one line Include SAT score (if >2000) Make it all past tense (i.e. not "oversee," "oversaw Get rid of any Microsoft Office items under technical skills Get rid of "technology" under interests, or make it something more specific - this goes with "cars" as well Make "Computer Technician and Salesman" just "Computer Technician," the former seems a bit too wordy/vague for a position. You can explain your sales skills during an interview, in any case.
Best of luck with the hunt. Boutiques are definitely still hiring, and there might even be a BB/MM slot open from some kid who fails a drug test or reneges..
Read this site everyday for an short market summary. Instead of fighting through WSJ or Bloomberg this site takes 5 minutes to read and tells you everything that you need to know and explains financial concepts. Amazing source for undergrad trying to stay sharp on the news for interviews.

Honestly maybe it's just me but I think "DJing" might be something to leave off. For one, "DJing" isn't a real word so it doesn't come across that professional and I don't have very high regards for people that are into being DJ's. Not trying to sound harsh but some resume reviewer might think that too and perception is everything
Thanks mate. I am a professional DJ who DJs and attends a lot of musical events around the world and I can tell you that I have met a lot of DJs who are professional lawyers and attended top 15 law schools and even investment bankers so you just have some personal bias against DJs. I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself.
