Medicine to Finance

I was curious about the way bankers look at people who come from different backgrounds or switch careers quite early.

I have studied medicine at a prestigious school for one year but after the first semester, I've decided that finance is the thing that I'm really excited about and switched to a target in the UK for the next September.

Can this give me an edge and should I even emphasise it on my CV and in an interview if I am applying for IB? Thanks!

there are healthcare and pharma coverage groups, and there are the comparable groups in consultancies.
If you still have an interest in that space, I'd mention it.

As a former banker with family members who are doctors, definitely plenty of respect for medical professionals and former medical people in the finance field. Some of the jobs in finance are specifically looking for people with medical backgrounds and see those without that background as unqualified. So good luck! Much success. Hopefully your background gives you a great advantage and starting point in your career financial and beyond :)

I don’t mean to spam. Just trying to add some helpful comments. Thankfully I’m not in need of adderall or anything like that at this time. No swipe against those who need it. I have heard good things about it as a helpful medicine/drug. I can try to slow down, just want to try to help and think I can be helpful. Sorry bro

just to make sure it’s clear, no, I didn’t take any addy or coke or drugs or anything like that…
