Putting an internship that lasted a month (resigned) on my resume

So I had an internship few summers ago in which I was supposed to work 3 months

I had quit after a month however because of some family and personal reasons, and the firm was clearly not happy about it

The thing is I still learned and worked a lot during the first month (working 70ish hours per week) and I was wondering if it is ok to put this one-month long internship on my resume.

I'm just worried that if I put this on my resume, it might raise a red flag when they do a background check on me in the future if they find out that I quit in the middle (of course I am not going to lie about resigning if they ask during the interview or something, but I feel like they might just assume that was how long the internship was supposed to be from the start). I am also worried that when the HR reaches out to the company the company might respond something to the line of "this guy quit after a month, he shouldn't be putting it down as an experience"

Any thoughts on this?

I would just leave it off, especially if it’s a pre-graduation internship that’s a few years old.

If you put it down + sign at a firm that does background checks, they’ll be calling your former employer to verify things. That could be fine if it’s a junior HR analyst (“yes he worked here for a month then departed”) but if they get one of your direct managers you might not come out unscathed. However, most background check firms aren’t interested in why you left (they know people quit) unless you were fired for cause, just that you were there for the time you claim.

Thanks for the response. I am still in undergrad though, and I am going into recruiting next spring. With the whole COVID thing, I don't have a lot of experiences to put on my resume if I were to leave it off. You mentioned how if they do a background check and contact my direct manager there might be some issues. What might be some possible issues in this situation? Will the manager saying stuff like "this person did work with us for a month but quit due to some stupid personal/family reasons and we were not happy with it" make a bank rescind my offer?
