Resume 6 Months In

Started AN1 in the summer, was wondering if I should have a selected deal experience section on my resume for the things I’ve worked on? Nothing’s been live yet, and was wondering if it would be a good idea to do so. Looking to recruit out. Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, including deal experience on your resume can be beneficial, even as an analyst. Here are some key points to consider:

  • Include Specifics: Detail your contributions to the deals. For example, you could write, "Gathered due diligence, assisted in underwriting, and organized closing materials for the purchase of a $XXm, XXk sf, office/retail/multi property."
  • Highlight Tangible Impact: If you had a measurable impact, such as catching a mistake or running part of the process, make sure to mention it.
  • Be Prepared to Discuss: You will likely be asked about these deals in interviews, so be ready to discuss specifics like debt details, business plans, and challenges faced.

Even if the deals haven't gone live yet, showcasing your involvement and understanding of the process can demonstrate your familiarity and competence in deal-making.
