Resume advice for incoming FT analyst

I worked at a large balance-sheet bank this past summer when I got a return offer, but recruited for full-time and got an offer at a BB where I'm being hired formally as a generalist, but group placement will happen sometime this year before the start of the analyst program. Getting started with PE networking, but wasn't sure how I should write on my resume my status as an incoming analyst.

Currently, I'm planning on writing "Incoming Investment Banking Analyst at 'X'". Most people I know, however, have a sub-bullet that reads something like "returning to group 'Y' full-time", but since I can't write that, what should I write about how my group hasn't been determined yet?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to know for your resume as an incoming FT analyst:

  1. Main Title:

    • "Incoming Investment Banking Analyst at [BB Bank Name]"
  2. Sub-Bullet:

    • Since your group placement hasn't been determined yet, you can use a general statement. For example:
      • "Group placement to be determined prior to the start of the analyst program"
  3. Additional Tips:

    • Highlight your previous experience at the large balance-sheet bank, emphasizing any relevant skills or achievements.
    • Mention any ongoing networking efforts, such as your PE networking, to show proactive career management.

This approach ensures clarity and transparency on your resume while accurately reflecting your current status.
