Resume critique - Recent grad

http://www.razume.com/documents/7127

First off, a disclaimer:

I am not a 4.0 H/S/W grad so I understand that Bulge Bracket is probably out of the question. That is fine with me - I am looking for Financial or Investment Analyst positions in the Dallas/Houston area and they don't have to necessarily be with huge corporations. Still, I am having a hard time even getting interviews.

This is a complete revamp of my old resume and I am hoping to shake things up again. A couple questions:

  1. Should I remove my Overall GPA, since my Major is higher? Or would this be just another thing I would have to explain to interviewers?

  2. Interests: Running, cycling, golf, financial markets -- remove this?

Thanks in advance for helping me out.

I'm still in school, so take that into account with my recommendations. Obviously if someone posts something on here later that is actually in the industry, their input is probably more valuable.

First of all, it needs to have more numbers to make it result-oriented. If you maintained budget spreadsheets, how much money are we talking about? Quantifiable achievements are more effective than trying to explain with words.

I would also consider removing the bit about being on the Dean's List if it was only for two semesters. While that's great, as an interviewer I would be more drawn to the fact that you only made it for ~25% of your college career. Is it only because classes got that much easier your senior year?

I don't know what I'd do about interests, I'm curious as to what others think. I've heard both good things and bad things about it... some say it's a waste of space, others like it. I know one dude that said he was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks in his interests and ended up spending the entire 1st round interview talking about hockey. Not that I would count on that happening, but you never know.
