Resume HELP: Professional golf to IB
Fellow Monkeys, I'm a professional golfer looking to break into Investment Banking. Unfortunately, I do not have any corporate experience to put on my resume, but have some Finance background in school. I am targeting Boutiques mainly in Los Angeles. I would greatly appreciate any help from you guys. Feel free to tear it apart. Thanks!

The font seems very large to me for some reason, so if you want maybe you can make it smaller which will give you more room. Then separate your work experience and leadership experience into two separate categories, which will essentially take up more space. That is the way the M&I format suggests.
Also, I would take off the "Training" section you have. I mean, you listed books and interview guides that almost everyone on here has read... Do you think they put that on their resume too? That will not add any value to your resume, and really just seems like a space filler. And to be honest, from what I have heard, if someone has a line that says "LBO, M&A, DCF Modeling" on the bottom like that, I would expect to get very advanced questions regarding those valuation techniques. The bar would be much higher if you do that.
Thank you for the help. I agree with you with the font. Someone told me earlier that san serif looks less clustered? I just added the training section today, because people kept telling me I don't have enough "Finance" and have too much emphasis on golf on my resume.
Again, very much appreciate your feedback. Here's a silver banana
The top 15 undergraduate business school and stellar GPA will help you land an unpaid finance internship. However, you need to add some form of finance experience if you want a legitimate shot at an IB internship, even if its a boutique. Were you part of any undergraduate finance clubs? If so, you may consider replacing the "XX Division I Men's Golf" section with your experiences from the Finance Club. Have you done any form of personal investing? Unless you have some awesome connections developed from your time on the green, I'm not understanding how you're going to sell yourself during interviews. You may consider taking up a PWM or other finance sales type internship to boost your resume in the interim. You clearly have the knowledge and drive, you just need the credentials. Probably not what you want to hear, but based on how you're selling yourself on your resume, you need to have a solid story and tangible experience prior to the interview. Good luck.
