Resume Help Sophomore - Tear it apart Please!!!

I'm a Community College Sophomore student looking to transfer to a Target/Semi Target for my Junior year

Completed an internship with a no-name PWM in my area for my Freshman year. I'm looking to beef up my resume by actively looking for a 2nd internship and finally pushing for a S&T Summer Analyst position in 2013

Would be grateful if you guys could destroy my resume!

I'm in a similar situation as you. Stop worrying about the Resume now, and concentrate on your transfer applications.

Resumes don't matter much in transfer admissions. What matters is your college GPA (your's is pretty darn good), professor recommendations and your essays. Involvement in college activities/community service helps as well. Have you made up a list of colleges you are going to apply to?

I've been wanting to take a shot at some of the applications for my sophomore year at bulge bracket, but i'm not qualify for most of then, thus the resume post.

I'm nearly giving up on applying for these programmes since I'm in a community college which sucks a lot for finance prospective.

Gonna move my focus for transfer now.Looking to transfer to most target/semi target.

^ as mentioned above beef it up to fill the page. Can you find sometime to add for work experience... did you volunteer anywhere during high school, camp-counselor, etc.?

For activities did you belong to any clubs? Did you exclude any impressive high school activities (you're a sophomore so it's okay to list certain major accomplishments such as all-county tennis lol? Can you add more classes to relevant coursework?

Interest should be interests... I also recommend simplifying the wording to poker, chess, traveling, etc.

On another topic you need to be realistic about your expectations. Aim high but don't be discouraged from pursuing other avenues aside S&T, whether spring or summer. Look, there are Ivy kids that won't get S&T internship gigs and no offense but they have an edge on you. I suggest you swing for the fences but also in the meantime focus on taking more relevant coursework and just studying finance in general. Use the internet to learn Excel, the basics of modeling, etc.

I graduated from high school many years back(i'm afraid to put them in due to the time difference- i travel to europe a bit,and work 1-2 years to come up with money for tuition)

Gonna be doing some activities the next 6 months (hopefully a Sophomore internship with some firm) which will fill up the white spaces!

Will definitely look up to learn more about Excel especially about VBA Skills.I just attended my first network event,in which I am trying to broaden my search interest in the hope of securing something for my 2013 SA position

I would take off the solving puzzles and poker stuff, yes that may be a hobby but it sounds forced. I agree with above, I hate to say it but being a CC student is going to hurt you. Work on those transfer applications and start networking...keep that 2013 S&T goal in mind and network network network.

I have to agree with you about being a CC student hurt my prospective a lot especially applying for Sophomores programs. I'm graduating in Spring 2012,but results for transfer doesn't come out till April,so I cant really put the transfer school in my resume yet (which is a big blow to my resume).I'm definitely shifting my focus for my transfer applications now.

In the note about network : I just managed to attend my first networking event with JPMorgan (Private Banking) although it was at a different school, but i managed to get in!
