Resume Review - Looking for IB positions, consulting, corporate finance

http://www.razume.com/documents/23556

Things to keep in mind:

  1. This resume is NOT INTENDED EXCLUSIVELY for investment banking. I'm hoping to use this resume as a universal resume for IB positions, consulting, corporate finance, equity research, Asset Management, etc. For this reason, I've converted the word pitch-book to business plan. Additionally, I mentioned Microsoft Office as a skill; this is obvious in IB, but no so much in other fields. If I'm off base here, please let me know.

  2. Razume doesn't allow italic words. Every sub heading under the first internship should be italicized, e.g: "Selected Transaction Experience", "Sale and Capital Raise for a Healthy Snack Foods Company," etc. Job titles should also be italicized. Dates are NOT italicized.

  3. Is it okay if I use all caps for my college, employers, and city/state? Not typical, but I feel like it stands out more.

  4. I'm trying to showcase as many activities as possible under the first IB internship. Any advice on different activities you might do in IB. Does it look varied?

  5. Any grammatical errors? And recommended edits for the bullet points?

Thanks. Merry Christmas!

You didn't advise anybody. You worked for an advisor. There is a difference. You're an intern so nobody will talk to you. If you are listing deal experience because you believe you know what you are talking about, then don't inflate your credentials, as you'll get called out on everything.

Competitive tennis? you better have some awards to boast about. Sports car tuning? you're drawing up bad images and stereotypes. Equities and WSJ. Boring interests. In fact, i'd probably call you out on some article on the WSJ in the morning and ask for a stock pitch.

They might also make you mock a coldcall during the meeting since you said you did it.

Basically, It's weird that you're sometimes very precise about what you did and then sometimes very vague. It tells me you're trying very hard to impress and that you are inflating your experience. So i'd get really interested in figuring out what you actually did and pick you apart.

Be careful friend.
