Resume Review Please - Trying to get an investment banking gig
Hi Guys,
I have been trying to get an investment banking gig for quite sometime now,but it keeps eluding me.The type of offers I keep geeting are either sales trading or some risk management. Here is my resume http://www.razume.com/documents/13077
I understand that I am not a conventional I banking candidate and have been told by recruiters that as per my QUANT background(I hate that!!) I might be more suited to the trading or other finance roles. But I really don't wanna go that side and would take a corporate finance or development role over trading any day. Please advise if there is anything I can do with my resume to make it more geared towards Investment Banking.I don't wanna be doing something my whole life which I don't enjoy. Is MBA my only option? I am already pursuing a finance masters.
This is a Quant resume. All of it is great experience for a trading career.
The MSF and MSCF degrees usually lead to trading programs at BB banks but rarely IBD.
Not sure how you would convince HR otherwise.
I would set sights on getting MBA after a few years on a trading desk.
I agree about the MSF degree being more geared towards trading. It was my mistake not having researched enough about the degree back in India before applying.I should have applied to LSE which has at least some IB placements.
