Rip my Resume apart - Graduating next year
Please TEAR my resume apart, tell me ANYTHING I can do to make it better
Graduating next year, I am looking to get into BB ER/AM, or big AM shops like Fidelity.
Note: my latest internship experience hasn't started, just including it in to get a feel of how my resume will look like during recruitment season.
I have a few questions,
1) I am considering taking one semester off to gain more relevant experience. No problems with graduating late.
Anyone has any opinions on this?
2) I am using Arial 10. Is it too small?
3) Should I include CFA level 1 exam and summer school under Education?
They are in Dec and Aug 2012 respectively and I included it because IMO it shows my interest and passion for finance
Appreciate any inputs!
"CFA Level I Candidate", not examination
I have not passed the exam though, I am taking it in Dec 2012
hence why you're a candidate for the level 1 exam
do not write things you haven't done yet..
Read the ethics portion of the CFA CBOK. Most you can put on your resume is "Charted Financial Analyst Program Level 1 Exam Candidate," then "Dec. 2012." Do NOT say "Expected Dec. 2012" as that implies you'll pass (which is a violation of the code).
Yeah exactely. Watch your layout for this entry. If you screw up the format of the cfa in your resume, that will not make a good impression, especially if the guy reading your resume is a chartholder...
your resume screams out CFA code of ethics violation
"Exceeded expectations by completing the audited financial statements of 15 companies in 7 weeks"
This is hilarious - please explain.
