sophomore finance resume
Hey guys, I'm currently applying to a variety of financial summer internships and am getting ready to sending out my resume. What do you guys think? What do you think my chances are of landing something? I'm planning on applying to Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Metlife, John Hancock, Raytheon, JP Morgan, GE FMP, GS, Citigroup, and a few others.
FYI, my formatting looks a lot better on MS word than it does on razume
And its 2 PAGES long
Two pages is one page too long. Have you done research into what makes a good resume? The font's too big.
Where to start at 1) NO 2 PAGES 2) Font is huge 3) Get rid of objective
you need to make the font big enough or tweak the spaces to FILL 2 pages nicely... other than that looks good
Get rid of objective, make font smaller, narrower margins. Alot of unnecessary spacing leading to tons of empty white space.
Sorry I should have clarified but when I loaded my resume on to razume the formatting changed completely. My original resume fits on 1 page, so there is actually a lot less white space on the real resume.
What do you guys think about my profile? Do you think I'd be competitive for the internships I mentioned? What areas could I improve on? Also how can I change my wording to further improve my resume? I'd be glad to PM the actual word doc to someone because formatting wise is looks a lot better.
Thanks a lot guys.
a) Font needs to be traditional (times or garamond) b) Leading verbs under work experience need to be past tense even though you are still doing it c) Remove the objective -- it's a waste of space d) General Formatting issues -- see the M&I template or use a MS word template
Save your word file as a pdf file before uploading to razume.com . Your formatting won't get fucked up next time
That worked perfectly, harv. I slightly edited mine and re-attached it. Do you guys think that I'm a competitive candidate for top internships available to sophomores? What facets of my resume do I need to work on?

You focus on the process and are very direct about describing the places you worked at. Focus instead on the results (what your individual contributions did to contribute to the firm). More common mistakes on resumes at the link below.

Add some more detail about what you do at the dot-com. You definitely have enough space to add in two more bullet points to that one.
Also, make sure that the lines from the bullet points are not going under the bullet point when the sentence is longer than one line.
Put a line between the college and high school. Remove the hanging comma on your "proficient in windows.." line.

Made a few tweaks. What do you guys think about the last bullet point under my restaurant experience. Do you think that's stupid?
dude...SAT is now out of 2400. did you do poorly on your writing? (I did) who are you trying to trick?
i would apply to more boutiques-i would be highly surprised if u picked up bb interviews
