Spring Week advice
Hi. Im starting uni in september and was advised to start prepping for SW now as the applications are fast paced. I just started my resume but as I'm aiming for quant focused experience (ML, Stats, Trading etc) I'm unsure if my resume is competitive.
I have no professional work experience and no competitions (both seen as strong for buyside quants). All I have are top grades, decent uni (LSE) and 1.5 projects (2 projects but one is based off the other). I made a ML financial time series model, and my half project was an extention off that so like doing statistical work after backtesting. The model includes backtesting, with that stats generated I just did bit of maths with it, used it to screen stocks and traded off the signals combined with like new for market views.
I added some work I did at a saying I learn communications and organisation under pressure (commonly worked during full house periods of like up to 200 customers) but again quite a wishywashy attempt as trying to make skills off basic work.
Is it hard to get SW? I'm looking to add better projects/"WEX" once in uni after I join societies etc but I need to make sure to get atleast some spring weeks as I feel I'll have no internships without ANY professional experience.
Any other advice concerning this topic would be appreciated.
I could also post my CV if it helps evaluation but tbh its quite amateurish right now and will probably be looking for CV advice after I start uni (so things like grades, uni and societies are confirmed)
