It offers timelines for both. I have more of a corporate finance/accounting background so I was leaning more towards the two-year program if I could land an internship. However, a few people also told me I would be fine with the one-year background as many people place into IB from lots of other traditional one-year programs.
Problem with the two-year program is that summer'25 internship recruiting is done for most firms and there will be some positions opening up later this fall for some banks but it'll be very competitive then. I believe you still have a chance with FT recruiting with the one-year program. I've seen students get into IB using the one-year program with previous experience unrelated to IB.
Thank you so much for the advice. I see your point, and I will try to network as much as I can to land an FT offer within the one-year track. Thank you!
Also talk to your school alumni about this too, some programs might get you an internship due to strong pipeline with some firms but it's something that might not be reliable, especially since masters in the US costs a fortune. I'm also considering MSF and talking to people who have done it gives you more perspective.
Awesome. I will reach out. I know that if you do not do an internship, they have a summer project that you can work on to help build experience. I am just nervous that the market will not be in good shape within a year for FT IB analysts so I guess it might be worth the risk though.

Does your program include internship for 2025 or is it direct FT recruiting?
