is one month enough time to study for GMAT? I just saw on Baruchs website that they are still accepting applications for their MFE program until April 1st. I could also take a GRE. Which one of those tests is it easier to study for, and do you guys think its possible to score well with just a month preperation??

GRE is easier imo. Get the Barons GRE book and you'll be fine. I did a few weeks prep at made high 700's on quant.

I took a course with Manhattan GMAT...scored in 700's...took ~ 2 months...its a great class if you can afford it.
Kaplan GMAT Premier Live Online is very good...I studied for about six weeks but didn't do much the last two, so it you put in the time, a month should be enough preparation
depends if you have a full-time job or full-time school. but if you can do 3 hours a day thats more than enough.
take a practice GMAT and see how you do and go from there
yea manhattan GMAT was good. got me from 500s to 700s 1.5 months. i dont think you'd want to spend more than 3 months preparing for gmat. you'd break down from exhaustion. 1~3 months is best.
I think it really depends on your own study habits. I've heard of people cramming in a really short time frame and doing amazingly well. I would say 2-3 months is prime. BTW lets just say there is an 8GB file floating around the net that has the entire Manhattan Gmat Curriculum on it including the Class recordings & labs, as well as handouts..
It depends on your study habits - do you need months of repetition or can your cram and retain for long enough to do well on the exam. Additionally, it depends on where you are starting from and what you are targeting - targeting a 760 from a mid-500s score will be a much tougher jump than targeting a 700 from a 600s. In my opinion, if you've got the right materials, the time, the patience and the drive, 1 month should be enough time to boost your score quite a bit.

It depends on what your goal is for the exam and how well of a standardized test taker you are. I had planned to take my GMAT the week after spring break during my senior year of undergrad, thinking I would study in the weeks leading up to, and including the break. I was tied up with a lot of other things at the time (mainly collegiate baseball), and never got around to studying for it. So, I paid $50 to push it back a month, thinking I would get the time to study.
Needless to say, I never really got the time to study, and it came down to the fact that I just needed to take the exam. I was not terribly concerned, since I feel I have a pretty good grasp of the english language and math concepts (I scored high 1300s on my SATs-old format). I spent about 20 minutes looking at a GMAT prep book I got just looking at the question types so I'd have some clue of what to expect. I ended up with a 650, which was the average of the top school I was targeting.
For me, one month would be more than enough to prepare. It really just depends on how well you are at test taking, what your basic knowledge set is, and what target score you are looking for.
Three weeks while working in IB, not Stephen Hawking brilliant, 760. Too many people go through every section of every book and end up spending three months studying everything under the sun. Study effectively by taking the diagnostic seriously and then studying what you need to study. Other than that, just depends on the person obviously although I think almost anyone can study their way to a 700.
