Advice / Chances for MBA Admission Down the Line?
I'm an incoming analyst at an EB in NYC (Moelis, PWP, PJT). I went to a non-target undergrad state school in the Midwest and had a 3.89 as a finance major. I am not a diversity candidate. I didn't have many leadership positions in college organizations other than in my fraternity, and as a TA for a finance course. However, I was a member of several finance-related organizations.
I want to get my MBA primarily for the credibility for potential fundraising in the future (with the goal of starting my own fund). What is the optimal exit from banking to achieve this, and what can I do now/over the next few years to help improve my chances? Note - I'm not particularly interested in MFs or buyout PE, but if that's the best way please let me know.
Primarily interested in M7 programs.

Make sure you lead a path of excellence at work with demonstrated leadership potential. Also, have a general idea of who will write your recommendations and really put out for them at work starting now if you haven't already. Ace the GRE/GMAT (obviously right). You also could volunteer a little bit to help your community.

Admissions is a lot of luck, but nailing the GMAT and showing leadership can always help.
For HSW, you'll need to get 750+ GMAT and have some leadership in extracurriculars (e.g., non-profit junior board) that you can talk about in essays. From there it will be based on crafting your story well of why you need the MBA and how each school helps you achieve that goal
What's the ideal exit? Exit to a MF is unlikely, but UMM is attainable. Also very interested in growth stage (GA, BVP Forge) - do these sorts of roles place well at HSW? Also, do A2As place well?
