Babson announces MSF

Just saw that Babson College near Boston has announced that it is now offering a Masters in Finance program. Interesting-ish. In my explorations of boutique investment banks in the greater Boston area, I do see a fair amount of Babson people. I would say its the most common or one of the most common in the area outside of the Ivy League and similar top programs.

Yea, I think Babson's entrepreneurial spirit caught on to the deluge of MSF programs popping up.. not a bad choice for those located in Boston, maybe

Given that MBA value is pretty static/ossified, I think Babson's MSF could well become the school's best graduate program - their MBA is what it is, and there's only so much you can improve that, esp when you're in the same city as HBS, Sloan, BC, BU, etc. But MSFs are still quite in flux so I think from a competition standpoint Babson could really leverage their Entrep/innovation reputation into a good MSF program. It helps that their UG business program is well established AND of course BOS/Northeast will be good for local placements.

Coming from Babson, despite its overwhelming entrepreneurial spirit, a good number of students pursue finance. Given the rankings and performance of graduates, plenty of finance firms come looking for ugrads. As a result, it made sense for the school to offer a MSF to bring finance to the grad school.

Did you do undergrad or graduate there?
