Bentley vs Fordham??

Hello! I am currently a high school senior and I intend on majoring in finance (or finance-economics if I choose Bentley) with a minor in either management or economics. My main goal is to work at a major investment banking firm and then eventually move on to venture capital. So far I have applied to 15 schools with Bentley as my number one. However a few weeks ago, I was accepted to Fordham's Gabelli School of Business and I am now extremely conflicted as to which school I would like to attend. Fordham is right in NYC, however I like how Bentley's curriculum is focused strictly on business and their career services is ranked #1 in the nation. Which school would be the better option to attend for a proscriptive finance major and do the major investment banks (Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, UBS, Morgan Stanley, etc) recruit at both schools heavily? If anyone is an alumnus from Bentley or Fordham, please mention it!

Fordham, simply because there have been a handful (you can count them on your fingers) of recent graduates who have made it. And out of that handful of graduates, almost all ended up in there credit banking side. However, 2-3 have made it to advisory/coverage groups.

You should know that if you do want to pursue that road, you must attain an incredibly high GPA, be socially adjusted, and net work your ass off with professors + bankers in the city. Fordham has an advantage in that it is in the city. There are many opportunities to bump into bankers and make a connection, but you must seek out to do so from Day 1 and with determination.

Edit: Your ranking should be Villanova, Fordham, Bentley given that Villanova has a greater alumni base in the banks you will eventually pursue.

hey, is it possible if you PM me and tell me about Fordham, since I have to wait two days to PM you? I have to make the final decision between Bentley and Fordham by the end of this week and I really want an honest opinion about the school. thank you and I would really appreciate it!

Bentley places rather well for a "non-target" in the past years. It is certainly trending into a semi-target . This year we sent 8 kids to IB, 6 to S&T roles, 4 to Capital Markets, 7 in equity research, 3 straight to HF, 5 in PE, and about 12 into asset management firms like wellington. So out of the 172 graduates majoring in finance placing 45 into target roles sound good to me. Bentley is what you make of it, get a good gpa, network and work hard. You can make it regardless of what may be said.
