Best undergrad Liberal Arts major for IB?
I am a rising sophomore student who is transferring to UMich liberal arts (LSA) program. I am trying to determine the best major to pursue to best position myself for a job in IB.
I’m aware the obvious choice is Econ, but in my situation would this be a bad look? I have heard that people at Michigan look down on Econ majors as “students who didn’t get into Ross,” and I am concerned that this might be a bad look to employers. Some people have said that I would be best off pursuing something more technical like Math (which is just as interesting to econ to me) or CS.
Do any of you have any thoughts on this?
*Also, yes, I am obviously still going to pursue a minor through Ross to those of you wondering.
Do Math or CS. Just know ur still gonna have to learn all of the content and technicals for IB (which won’t be at all covered in your coursework), so it may make it extra challenging and time consuming to learn everything. I recommend still taking a basic financial accounting class and general finance class as electives if you can just to get a baseline. Math/CS are also good majors for quant or trading if you decide to shoot for those as well
