Bocconi or ESCP MIM (as a French student)

Hi everyone,

I'm from a non-target uni, no relevant internships, lot of international exp. (especially with Asia, learning chinese). I'd like to work in Management Consulting or Corporate Finance later (probably first in Asia and then in the EU).

ESCP Pros :
- Gap year possibility (two 6 months internship) (not at bocconi)
- easier networking (since I'm french)
- DD with Shanghai Jiao Tong
- many specializations and campuses

Bocconi Pros :
- seems to be a better brand overall (except for France I guess)
- DD with Fudan
- 6 month internship at the end of year 2
- opportunity to learn Italian (already speak french + spanish)

Since both are amazing uni, I'd love to hear opinions in terms of career prospects and chances of breaking in the industry.

Many thanks !

Controversial

It really depends where you would see yourself in 5/7 years.
ESCP is great in France - not that great in UK
Bocconi is good in France - great both in Italy and UK

From an insider I would say Bocconi is also better from a networking standpoints - ESCP is packed of morons and you would need to find the right pppl to network with.

At Bocconi most of the students are full of themself but at least you get to know motivated and v serious students.
At Bocconi you would study much more, ESCP you don’t do much

The gap option is indeed a great pro for ESCP as it makes the program very flexible.

Overall I would say it depends from what you are looking for and where do you see yourself

Better exit from Bocconi into traditional finance routes however, worth keeping in mind the sheer amount of people applying from there. It seems all the people I have worked with (from Bocconi) knew they wanted to do it since the age of 16.

ESCP is good personally as a university experience, but exits are lower (not sure if it is even a semi target for London recruitment).
