Breaking into Healthcare IB from Rice University

I'm an incoming freshman at Rice University. While I know that Rice is not a top target for general finance ib, I am wondering, given Rice's focus on the sciences, if it would be a target specifically for Healthcare IB (and, to a larger extent, PE, VC, etc). For reference, I will plan to have (and already have) a lot of sophisticated lab and medical experience.

Rice is a really good school and I’m sure they have a strong alumni/resources. Don’t stress it, you will be just fine. Enjoy freshman year!

Caveat this as a finance majoring intern's take, but what I've seen is that, while academic agnosticism works fine at a junior level in HC IB/etc., it can be hard to ascend without an actual sci/med background, especially if you're representing a fund / pitching to investors. The business acumen isn't hard to pick up, especially if you already have an interest and plan to learn on the side for recruiting anyway, but the underlying scientific understanding and credentialism is so so valuable to the fund and investors (and lowkey a minimum bar to have sometimes). Maybe the extent to which you can teach yourself vs usefulness of school resources / courses will impact how much biz is in that curriculum. Business professors and even some business classes certainly can be quite valuable too
