BU vs Western Ivey
Hello everybody , I'm an International student and was recently accepted into Questrom at Boston University and the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. Which option would be better for a US Investment banking position ? Thanks in Advance
Ivey is continuously placing people at some of the best US firms, they have a very strong pipeline due to their alumni network.
Thanks !
Sucks to BU
Ivey
Ivey alumni feed undergraduates interview questions, push for their candidates to an absurdly exaggerative degree, and generally (way) overplay the strength of their alma mater. And most HR people are too thick to catch onto any of the above.
So go to Ivy, even though it’s the Canadian equivalent of BU.
i think this is a bit of an over exaggeration, what really happens is that ivey alumni and senior students really help younger students. they don’t directly feed questions but are always open to mocks where the average ivey student will have done 20+ before an interview. also, pushing a schools students is just what good alumni do.
tdlr: ivey is great
They 100% directly feed scheduled interview questions. I’ve seen it at multiple firms. Whether the forewarning is implicit (via a mock) or explicit (‘hey, be ready for XYZ’) can vary, though it skews towards the latter.
