Undergrad BSchool vs Arts & Sciences (economics)
Hello all,I am a current HS senior applying to college. I have decent stats and want to go into finance (most interested in IB/S&T as of now). However, my math grades are pretty weak, which I believe will hurt my chances at many top business schools. Because of that, I am applying to college of arts & sciences at around half of the schools I’m applying to. Will this put me at a large disadvantage for later on recruiting if I’m not in the business school? However, I believe my activities are much more business focused, so im unsure if those will make up for my weaknesses in math. The ones I’m applying to A&S at are generally easier to internal transfer into business school later on (WashU, UNC, UVA) and UMich (where I’d have 0 shot at Ross). How much will being in A&S (likely Econ) hurt later on finance opportunities? Would I be better off and have better admissions chances just applying to business schools with good ECs but weak math scores? Ex: say I were admitted to UMich A&S and IU Kelley, which would be better for later on?
