Used to think Oxford was it, but then I moved to England.

Cambridge certainly seems to be the more intellectual of the two. Oxford seems to be the more class conscious of the two.

people just seem smarter, and most of them have some background in computers/science/math - I worked in London for a few months and work closely with a few Brits in NY, and they expressed the same opinion nauru did: oxford seems outwardly more prestigous, but cambridge has more substance.

You sirs, are complete buffoons!

Those uncooth and uncivilised barbarians from cambridge who unfold their napkins at the dinner table prior to the host or hostess doing so, will never, and I repeat, will NEVER be as intellectually astute nor gentlemanly to the likes of us upstanding oxford men.

I challenge anymore such unfounded and heresay as we see in the above posts to a duel of wits and etiquete behaviour any day!

No offense, but you talk like a complete cunt.

I know nothing of either school but the fact that you pride yourself on unfolding a napkin makes me wonder about Oxford.

The gravitiy of your comments are creating a chill down my very spine!

Myself and my fellow alumni have further discussed your heresay on this board, and come to the strikingly obvious conclusion, that all being Americans and lacking the same blue blood we have coursing through our noble veins, we could not expect such very commoners that you are to understand.

So therefore I guess I have humiliated myself in bringing such a question to this board having not taken heed of such a possibility.

Oxford!!!!!!!!!!!

I know not what you talk of, but referring to I as a dollar store anything is a complete and utter insult!

Savages, the lot of you!

Once you have sipped on the finest whisky, and eaten the msot succulent of pheasant acquired by yourself on a hunting trip with your basset hounds throughout the rolling countryside of Britain, then you can comment, otherwise keep your barbarian mouths firmly shut!

If by selective you mean for a select group of commoners so be it.

Myself and Prince Harry for one have no interest in associating with such neanderthals!

I laughed a bit.

Also I think you mean hunting with beagles, as basset hounds are more for rabbit and are a French bread (feel free to comment on the French).

I once saw Prince Harry in Afghanistan. Not knowing who he was, I remarked to a fellow soldier how suspiciously clean his uniform was (we were in Helmund Province - not a nice place) and how he looked a little inbred. I was later informed he was 3rd in line to the British throne at which point I thought to myself "sounds about right."

Prince Harry looking like an inbred? ..... lol

Can't say much about either school, but the few I know from Cambridge work in structuring, swaptions, and quantitative fields in the S&T (I don't know much about IBD though). Oxford guys tend to be found more on the macro, non-quantitative side.
