Can I take the CFA® multiple times under the same fee
I have a simple question, which has been less than simple to find an answer to. I'm sure someone on here will know.
Can I take the CFA® exam (Level 1 specifically) more than once under the same fee if I do not pass the first time? So, if I take the exam this coming December and do not pass, can I take the exam again without paying additionally?
The answer is probably no, but I've heard otherwise as well. I'm hoping someone with/perusing a CFA® will know for sure.
Thanks in advance!
no you pay if you fail. what kind of question is this lol you dont have to pay the enrollment fee again that may be what youre thinking of
There is a one time fee when you first enroll in the CFA program, so the first time you take the CFA will be the most expensive. It's something like $700-900 for each time afterward.
That I understand. But, if I fail the first Level 1 exam I take, can I retake the exam without being charged the fee again? The comment above yours indicates yes, but I'd like to get some consensus.
Every time you take an exam you pay examination fee. If you fail and have to retake it - you pay it again. I The only "one time" fee is CFA registration fee.
If you decide not sit for an exam that is already paid for, you cant postpone it and loose your $. One thing to consider, if you fail Level 1 in December, the official curriculum changes to 2012 version.
Make sure to register early to save a few $$.
