CBS JTerm for MD-PHD switch from MBB to healthcare IB/PE

Hey there!

I am a 30y/o MD PHD currently working at MBB in NYC (~2 years in) and want to make a switch into finance staying in the US.

General considerations for MBA:

I am a Euroean citizen and dont hold a US work authorization, OPT would help with this. The MBA would help to sharpen business / finance story on CV.

Considerations for Jterm:

Particularly lower opportunity cost and age. If I started during next year’s fall intake, I would be 33 when graduating. With the Jterm, I will graduate at 31. Already did 7 years of MedSchool…

My concerns:

Will it be possible with in-semester internships / networking etc. to land offers for healthcare investing roles given I have a relatively specialized / niche profile? I am not seeking generalist roles. Or does the lack of the summer internship completely eliminate those opportunities?

Are there other entryways that you guys see besides the MBA?

Thanks so much!
