Chances for S and Chi/Col
Hi, new user here, so, here's my data:
I think that Stanford is kind of impossible but it's like a dream so I wanna ask:
Mexican.
700 GMAT
26 years old
3.64 GPA from a top 2 mexican school, accounting/finance double major with honors.
TOEFL 647
Worked 3 years as an investment analyst for a mid size mexican bank, like private wealth management but completely discretionary so I made all the decisions regarding asset allocation and did research for my boss.
Volunteered once as a consultant for a micro enterprise and currently as a math teacher for elementary school kids from marginalized communities.
I chose S/Chi/Col because I like the cities and their finance programs, I don't like Philly so Wharton is out.
After graduation I would like to work in AM/HF or VC.
So, what are my chances?
Stanford is out but you seem solid for booth and columbia. You might want to re-take the gmat since columbia is obssessed with high gmat. Your extracurriculars are reasonably interesting. Make sure your essays are very sharp.
I don't think you are in a bad position at all.
Want to go Stanford? Don't listen to anyone. Just apply even if you think you have no chance. None of us here are qualified to give you an assessment of your chances. We have NO idea what the adcoms are looking for and who knows maybe you are what they want. All I know is if you don't apply you will be rejected 100% for sure.
Not looking good for any of the three, tbh. You might get lucky and get Booth, however. But, that's all I can see happening.
