Charting a Career Shift: From Electronics Engineering to Quantitative Analytics and Beyond
I completed my PhD in electronics engineering a year ago, but I've grown weary of research and am considering a transition to quantitative analytics. My goal is to join a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) in the Middle East, even though I lack a finance background. To bridge this gap, I plan to pursue the CFA designation first and then apply for a Master's in Quantitative Engineering in the US. Upon graduation, I intend to secure a job on Wall Street, gain valuable experience for several years, and eventually explore opportunities in the Middle East.
