Do you think leaving a school due to major is smart?

Currently a sophomore at usc but an English major. Trying to get into there Marshall program but it would take much longer in terms of graduating and tuition. So, leaving and taking classes online somewhere with a current 4.0 gpa with the hopes of transferring to a t10 with a business program that I can start this fall. Smart idea?

Don't really understand your question/ situation but in general:

Leaving a school to transfer to a higher ranked/ better targeted school: smart

Leaving to transfer to a 'better' major (e.g., English to economics): not smart

Basically trying to transfer from English to a business school as soon as possible. Usc is a great school but at the same time I’m not doing what I want in terms of major. I don’t have interest in a Econ major and want to be in the business program.

If you're tryna transfer due to genuine, self-contained interest in the business degree and disinterest for your English major, go for it. It's important to study what you want to. If it's because you think business is better for recruiting than English, don't. Unless the business school is a stronger target (idk how USC places in terms of recruiting)

You're a sophomore in college studying ENGLISH and can't quite grasp their/there/they're yet? Yeah maybe the English major isn't for you.
