Does apprenticeship count as work experience?

Hi, I’m thinking of applying to an American b-school in a couple of years.

Currently, I’m a year 1 analyst at an index/analytics company (think Bloomberg, MSCI, FactSet, Moodys). I did a work-study masters program in Europe. It’s quite common there and they call it apprenticeship.

Basically the company pays for the tuition and also paid me salary. I attended class 2 days per week and worked 3 days. I worked 5 days per week during the school vacation.

Since I did grad school, I’m already behind I terms of work experience. I hope to start MBA before turning 30, but I won’t have a lot of full time work experience.

I was wondering if the apprentice counts as WE in mba admission since that would add one year to my WE

Thanks in advance, guys.
