You should be fine. Just make sure you have a 3-5 page written explaination of why you were speeding and where you were going. Also, try to obtain some court documents and background information on the police officer just in case your background check goes into litigation.

@"JustNumbers" Stop trolling. But if you're serious, it doesn't matter. Only stuff that goes in your criminal record is important. If you are an international and have a criminal record (eg DUI), you will not get a US Visa.

How freaking fast were you going that speeding became a misdemeanor? I've gotten my share of tickets and I don't think any of them were misdemeanors (as far as I know).
I know Phoenix Online says it's ok if you have misdemeanor for a traffic violation so you're probably in the clear.
