Dual degree Finance-Actuarial Science

From Macquarie University in Sydney. Since combining Finance with Actuarial Studies might allow me to analyze deeper on risks and enhance my mathematical skills, would this be a great idea for me?
From employers' side, I've been hearing that quantitative skills are highly regarded in IB, thus, wouldn't having skills in both maths and finance increase my chance of getting the job even with wider context?
Anyone?
I wouldn't bother with an actuarial degree unless you want to be an actuary (a pretty good job by the way).
If I saw Actuarial Studies on a resume I would think that was bizarre. If you're trying to show math skills just double major in some type of mathematics.
