Duke MBA vs. Cornell MBA
I'm an international already in Asset Management in my own country (major emerging market) with 2-4 years of exp. and trying to decide between Fuqua and Johnson MBA programs. I'll be seeking an Associate position at an investment bank (bb or boutique) and would like to hear what you guys think on my chances from both of these schools.
Duke is a higher ranked program and seems to have an edge in terms of prestige and is a target program and all, but I'm not %100 sure. On the other hand, Cornell is closer to NY- yet in terms of hours spent on the road, Duke is actually closer to NY!
Look forward to hearing what you guys will say- please stick to the MBA programs, although I might agree that the undergrad prestige seems to influence the recruiters to some extent.

Duke...the MM and boutique alumni presence is huge. Plus the campus is nicer.
Cornell is really in the middle of nowhere and the weather is horrible. I think Duke is the better choice.
Hey, I think that placement from both schools is excellent in NYC IB, at least for domestic students. Not sure about the H1-b Visa thing. Never been to Duke campus. Been to Cornell campus over 20 times. Absolutely beautiful campus. Weather sucks. You will be digging your car out from the snow every morning starting December 10 and ending March 10.
It really depends on what you are looking to get out of the school. Both programs are very high quality programs, I will admit duke will likely have a slight networking and recruiting advantage. From what I hear and have read Duke places well in to prestige MM firms and decently well in to BB your experience should qualify you for a associate position as is. Personally I would look into firms that are recruiting for emerging markets, your experience in a large emerging market will give you an advantage or a domestic kid who just has textbook experience in those markets. I am a big fan of education but a bigger fan of common sense and leveraging your experiences to get you were you want to be before you drop 100k plus on an education.
Duke has huge presence in emerging markets.

I'm an undergrad at Cornell and had I got into Duke I would've gone there in a flash.

PS Cornell is much closer to NYC than Duke by drive time. But this is fairly irrelevant for recruiting. On another note, what is the situation for foreign students trying to get paid internships in America? Always been curious about that.
