Duke vs UMich, Advice?

I recently graduated from duke and had a great 4 years there. You’ll honestly get solid looks from both - I’d say go Michigan if tuition is a concern otherwise go duke. One thing I didn’t like about duke is it was way too liberal for my liking and the administration blows fat wad. No tailgating for basketball/football & crackdowns on Greek life were my top 2 problems. In that sense, Michigan would prolly be a more fun school. In terms of academics tho Duke takes the chip.

I went to Duke undergrad and Ross for my MBA. If there isn't a huge difference in cost of attendance, my vote goes to Duke for placement on a per capita basis.

You neee to reach out to people (alumni and current students) and talk with them 1 on 1. At least go to that effort if you really care between choosing either.

Do not get your advice from online forums. As in, there’s no difference (from my or many, many points of view) so you need to do your own research where people will be biased, maybe, but honest. Also no ones gonna tell you much that you don’t already know or can’t find that exists already. Right now you need perspective , which can only come from putting some effort into having conversations with people.

Call and have some phone calls dude. Will go a long way. Maybe you’ll even make some friends or mentors. As an aside, very little difference between Duke and Ross from a placement view from where I sit and notice placements. I’ve personally ‘touched/interacted’ with more Ross kids but Very few either way tbh. Either way good luck and you can’t go wrong congrats on your offers.

I’d go duke, seems like less competition

Go to Duke- less competition, slightly more prestigious, and better weather.

duke is more “prestigious.” but Michigan has a better network and you’ll have a better time overall
