Econ vs. Accounting Master's Degree - Which is better?

If I already have a finance background and I don't want to do an MSF, which would be better for breaking in to IB?

Obviously school and location matters but what if those are the same?

Network. If you have the experience you just need to start dialing and smiling. An accounting masters would be nice for your CPA, but not really helpful for transitioning jobs. Econ would be interesting though.

OP, I would still consider an MSF. Rest of you: you guys really think Econ? I've met a few people who have accounting masters doing IB and I would think most MACC degrees are in the business school while most econ degrees seem to be in the main campus graduate school. Just a thought.

Hypothetically I think the ultimate (purely academic career) route is:

BS: ACC MBA: FIN PhD: Econ

Here to learn and hopefully pass on some knowledge as well. SB if I helped.
