Economist GMAT Tutor?

Hey guys, I'm just wondering how did you prepare for GMAT. I'm applying for grad school (MSF/MSMF) this Fall, and I'm thinking about getting down to GMAT earlier. I read the Economist every day so I was looking into their GMAT tutor. Any insights? Or maybe other prep materials/online tutors like Magoosh/others ? (I'm aiming for about 750)

Thanks a lot

I didn't do the GMAT, but the GRE (which may be easier, I don't know). That being said, if you have the money go for it! It can't hurt. I didn't have the money, and frankly I prefer to study on my own so I didn't bother with tutors. What I did was, I picked ONE prep book and read it front to back (they are all going to be fairly similar anyway, but make sure you read some reviews online to make sure it is not particularly bad one). After that, I did as many questions and mock tests I could, including two complete and "realistic" mock tests. That is in a setting as similar as the actual exam, with the same time, breaks, conditions, etc. I got 99 percentile in verbal and 92 in quantitative, so fairly decent. Some of these books you can rent in libraries and others you can get online if you know where to look. I inherited one from my sister and got some mock questions online, so I didn't paid a dime for my preparation. Good luck.

I got my scores exactly reversed when I wrote the GRE. Wonder how y'all get these high verbal scores.

Use prep books. The Economist GMAT questions are too easy - not worth it if your target is a 750+.

I never used the Economist, but really enjoyed TargetTestPrep for my Quant prep (a little more affordable as well).

Thanks for the input ! I am a Math major myself haha and I have done some questions. I feel comfortable on this part. Looking for something that's gonna help me go through Verbal

Ok no need for TargetTestPrep then - I took ManhattenPrep as well and found their Verbal section pretty useful (albeit time intensive)...
