Edinburgh vs Cass MSc
Hey everyone,
Lets say you have an offer from Edinburgh BS MSc in finance and investment and Cass BS MSc in corporate finance, your goal is to work in IB/PE firm in the UK or in another european country, which one would you choose? Why? pros and cons?
Cass - to be in London and network. Not saying Cass is a great school, but at least you are closer to the City.
That said Edinburgh for undergrad is light years ahead of Cass. But that's for undergrad education.
Can you just leave after the BS? Edinburgh undergrad is pretty good but its masters are meh while it's the opposite for Cass. Though if you could opp out of the masters, you could try to work a bit and reapply for a better masters if you feel you still need one.
I had this choice to make but have opted to go with Edinburgh after speaking with people and students at the school. Course content looks good and was impressed by the calibre of students who appear to be being placed in good firms. I didn't think Cass offered me anything Edinburgh didn't and thought Edinburgh is cool city to spend a year. Whatever you decide just make the most of it, either will be good for your future I'm sure
I guess with BS you only meant Business School and this is therefore only about the MSc programs? I'd say Cass on the basis that out of those 2, Cass is known a bit better - especially in the rest of Europe. I also heard some good things about Edingburgh and it could well be that it has a better reputation in the UK alone but if recognition across Europe is very important to you, Cass is the better choice.

Even though Edinburgh BS has a good reputation in UK and also in UE, I think if you want to work in the city, Cass BS is your best choice. Why? Better contacts in the city. The recruitment in Cass would offer you better chances to work as investment banker in London financial district.
Agree with this. Edinburgh would give you a solid education. But Cass would be your best bet due to it's proximity to the city.
Thank you! Is Cass well-known outside the UK? The thing is, that i am not UK or EU citizen and would probably like to return my home country.
