Evaluating potential transition from pre-MBA co-investments role to post-MBA direct investing

Hey everyone,

Posting here for the first time so please be kind and forgiving of any mistakes.

I need your help evaluating an offer I've received. For context, I have 3Y of work ex. at MBBs, UG from top5 schools in India (IITs). I have received an offer for an international opportunity at a very large SWF in their PE team for an APAC focused co-investments role. Given I want to make a post-MBA transition to direct investing PE at a UMM/ Megafund, a) how should I look at this opportunity - yes/ no/ maybe and reasons; b) realistically, what are my chances to make that post-MBA transition and c) anything I can do to make my profile stronger for PE later?

Note:

1. I have tried some of the pre-MBA analyst roles but sadly couldn't make the cut
2. I do hope to secure a strong MBA admit (M7 or similar) if all things go well, given strong acads/ GMAT,  good LORs from MBB, high perf. rating so far, balanced extra currics, etc.
