Finance + CS Dual Degree
Hi all,
I'm a freshman at a non-target and I have enough credits to pursue a dual degree, and I was wondering which degrees I should choose. As of now I'm doing Finance + Math, but I could switch out Math for either CS or Data Science, although CS would a tight squeeze. I still plan on trying to go after a traditional high-finance role like IB, and not something that would take advantage of any of my second degrees. Because of this, I don't think risking my GPA for a math degree I won't even really use that much is worth it.
I don't plan on going to grad school, besides maybe an MBA down the line. If I did, I feel like I would enjoy a quant type of role, yet I'm nervous committing to that path. I don't really know a lot about it, and I don't quite understand how I would gain the finance/quant related working experience needed to get into a top MBA program with a math + cs undergrad degree.
I would love any suggestions or help you all have to offer.
Some part of me would love to just to only do the finance degree and guarantee a stress free 4.0, but I feel like I could, and should, be doing more.
CS risks your GPA way more than math. If your head's screwed on right and you start your homework early each week, 4.0 guaranteed.
