Fuqua vs. Ross for Consulting

I'm deciding between Fuqua or Ross for consulting. I'm interested in having the best shot at tier 1 and 2 firms. I would love MBB, but Deloitte, Accenture, etc. are fine. I'm a career switcher so my interest is more changing industry.

I have $30k more in scholarship money at Ross but I know over time that is not worth much.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you.

Fuqua ftw. It may also depend on where you want to work. IIRC, Duke has slightly better representation in NYC; Michigan in Chicago.

They're both going to give you a really good shot at MBB/Big 4 consulting. Personally, I would choose Michigan for the campus life and culture. Ann Arbor is an awesome, young, exciting city whereas my impression of Durham is that it's much more mundane.

Since you're going to have the same opportunities at both schools, you should figure out which city you would be happier living in for the next two years.

I'm a little surprised that some WSO types are saying Ross and Fuqua are roughly equal in reputation. I thought Duke was definitely higher in the rankings, especially since last year's BW poll http://poetsandquants.com/2014/11/11/duke-tops-2014-businessweek-rankin…

Go to admit weekend at both schools and ask current first and second year students what they would recommend. You'll get a much better feel after that.
