Georgetown McDonough vs USC Marshall Undergrad

I am currently a student at Georgetown McDonough and am honestly not too happy here. I am looking to transfer to USC Marshall and have heard that Georgetown is better for the East Coast and USC is better for the West Coast. I'm wondering if working in IB, consulting, etc on the West Coast is less prestigious than on the East Coast and how professional recruiting might differ. I am also from SoCal and would like to return eventually. I would also be an incoming sophomore to USC.

Stay at Georgetown. USC is a great school but is a semi-target. Georgetown is honestly so overpowered and strong in its recruiting. The school is as selective as Emory, Notre Dame, Tufts, Vanderbilt but recruits better than most ivies. Think about what you don't like about Georgetown and see if you can really get that somewhere else or if its just some kind of a dream. Grass may always seem greener on the other side. In my view all colleges by and large can provide you what your looking for provided that your interests are not super niche. You're a business major so you're interests are not niche or cutting edge or really special to be honest. You can create a good social scene anywhere. DC is amazing! If you really want to transfer look at Dartmouth, Cornell, Ross, Duke. It seems like you want a more party kinda atmosphere

I'm also a student at Georgetown from SoCal. I also was pretty unhappy to be here during my freshman year. But, Georgetown helped me get my dream internship and looking back, I don't regret coming here as much. Can I ask you what makes you unhappy? Is it bc the people here are very different than in SoCal, DC feels fake, the weather is shit, the school is broke? I’m happy to help.

All of the above are prime reasons why lol. It sucks cause I had a different view of Georgetown before I got here. There are also other reasons as well like I miss SoCal a ton because my family moved out of state when I went to college and it has been tough dealing with that.
