Georgetown vs USC vs Vandy vs UNC MBA
How would you rank these for someone looking to go into IB? Would like to live either northeast or out west upon graduation. Also open to other schools in the top 20-30 range if you have recommendations. I have a 3.45ish from a state school and 680 gmat. Currently working in finance.
For banking in northeast I'd say Georgetown >= UNC > USC > Vandy. Obviously for west coast or the south it'd be different.

UCLA?
I’ve thought about UCLA just not sure how competitive I am. Other reaches I’m looking at are Duke, Cornell, UVA, and possibly Ross.
Vandy MBA grad here. You'd have a decent shot at IB from Owen, though to end up in NYC requires a lot of travel up during the year. I'd guess that Georgetown is a little bit easier for the northeast and UNC is strong as well.
For out west, USC feels like a good bet. UCLA, Cal, Stanford feel out of reach with your current GMAT/GPA mix. I'd focus on getting your GMAT in the 720+ range.
Cornell isn't on your list, but it would likely give you better odds in the northeast. Also not on your list, but UT and Rice would give you great odds in Houston IB.
I am retaking in a few weeks. I might be able to pull off 700 but I doubt 720. I am planning on applying to Cornell as a stretch. As for rice and UT, I could see myself in the West, Midwest, and northeast but really don’t want to live in Houston. For being ranked around 25, Georgetown seems recruit pretty well for finance. Is this correct?

Yea it’s a fine school for IB, but not necessarily core at most banks. In my associate class, there’s 1 from Georgetown, and none from the remaining schools listed. I know a handful of USC/UNC grads at different banks, but haven’t run into many Owen guys.
As mentioned above, obviously Cornell, UCLA, Darden, Fuqua, Ross, etc. are all better options and would give you a better shot and ending up at a good bank.
Do you see many UCLA alums on the east coast?

UNC probably does well since Charlotte is close. USC is definitely a good bet for West Coast.
UNC Alums/students have told me the Kenan-Flagler network is surprisingly strong in NYC too.
USC employment stats for 2017 indicate that only 3% went into IB, yet people here say Marshall places really well on the West Coast. Doesn’t seem very strong to me unless 10 students from each class are interested in banking.
I think I overheard roughly 80% of both Stanford and USC MBA grads are looking for consulting careers. Take this with a grain of salt. I could just be talking out of my ass right now.

You may have a shot at the schools, but likely not a shot at IB (going back to your original post). From working with Vandy's CMC, a lot of banks have a 700 GMAT minimum barring special circumstances.
IB aside, I'd still highly recommend working to get the GMAT score up. As a general rule, you're in a much better spot if you're applying with a score above the median (and especially if you aren't a diversity candidate).

What's surprising about Owen's median? Quite a few prestigious universities have better undergraduate offerings relative to their graduate business schools (see Notre Dame).
I meant surprising that there is a 700 gmat cuttoff for IB when Vandy has a 680 median and sends people to IB.
