Going from Project Management to Finance

Hi everyone,

I am currently a software project manager in a tech company. I came from a humanities background in college. I'm considering moving into ibanking through the route of business school. If there is anybody out there in the WSO world that has gone down a similar path I need your advice on MBA programs, the realities of moving from project management to finance, and how you were able to adapt. Were there any MBA programs that you went to or have heard of that really assisted in this area?

Thanks again.

Paul-Chung2,

If your concern is obtaining an IB job, all of the top programs send a ton of applicants from non-finance backgrounds to the top investment banks (and consulting firms). This is one thing they do ALL the time and they do it quite well. They have everything: clubs, coursework, networks, subscriptions, you name it. If you get into a top school and are willing to put in the effort, you won't need to worry about having the resources on hand to tackle IB recruiting.
