Got into LSE Masters, how do internships work?

Just got an offer for MSc in Management and Strategy at LSE. I went to NYU for undergrad, and am not super familiar with the UK system - since the LSE masters is only 1 year (september to september):

How do I apply for internships? Do people generally do them during term time? Should I put the MSc on my resume now and start applying?

Also, are consulting and finance recruiting cycles roughly the same as in the US? i.e. am I going to start recruiting almost as soon as I start the program?

Thanks!

LSE is only a target for MFin(&PE) by the way so don’t get your hopes up. Most go for summer internships.

Don't get my hopes up for what? I want to go into consulting so I opted for a management course over finance. Was that a mistake lol?
When do people do summer internships? There is not really a long summer break from what I understand, so does that mean they are done during the summer term?

Not sure what's going on with the above poster, but don't listen to him. LSE management does well in consulting, maybe not as well as Oxford, but it still has decent placement. Regarding internships, you want to be interning this summer before the program, or maybe take a semester off and do an off-cycle (this gives you an extra summer as well)

EDIT: this was meant as a reply to yg_nyc but it somehow glitched. Don't know what's going on with this site
