Hec MiM or Bocconi MSc Finance?

Hi everyone, I have a question for you

Since my goal is IB in London, do you think would be better the Hec MiM or the Bocconi Msc Finance?

About the Hec MiM in particular I like the exchange programs with MIT, Berkeley or other top US universities. Farther, during the second year I could do the "International finance" specialization. Therefore I think that although is a MiM program it could be personalized to be very finance focused.

What do you think about it?

Both are top, but if your goal is IB in London, I advice you to take Bocconi. HEC is a very good school, but most of their grads end up staying in the french market, while a biggest number of Bocconi grads tends to go to London.

If you look at Linkedin stats for both schools, you can see that HEC has 2.485 alumni in London, while Bocconi has 4.930, nearly the double.

Look I think that there is few factors to consider here:

1) Number of schools - in France there is HEC/ESSEC/ESCP/X that are all equally targetted compared to Bocconi which is the only real target in Italy, thus the alumni base for French people will be spread accross 4+ unis vs Bocconi for the most part for Italians.

2) Location focus: if you ever spoke to an Italian in IB they don't come to London because it is better than Italy, they come to London because this is where the jobs are.

The relative size is nearly the same, HEC has like 75k alumni in Linkedin and Bocconi like 95k, so relatively they are very similar. It is common knowledge that HEC and Bocconi are the top continental european BS and top targets for UK, so given that they are nearly the same, what makes the difference is the network that each has to offer, and they are not even close there, so for me the decission is clear.

HEC if French, Bocconi if Italian, either if you’re from neither country but if you speak even basic of either language I’d lean towards that uni.
