International MFin vs MBA
Taking a temperature of the ecosystem in 2026 - thinking to go through recruitment for 2028 placement.
I have two options - pursue a specialized Masters in Finance (or MiM, etc.) that does not require GRE/GMAT or pursue MBA.
For MFin: LBS MFin, Cambridge Judge MFin
For MBA: INSEAD, NYU, Columbia, LBS, Booth, Kellog
It's been some years since I've taken a look at these programs and the consensus has been the overall value of the MBA has declined in the past 5-10 years, It's once again taken a hit in the age of AI where some graduates feel ill-equipped entering post-MBA markets.
With that said, that was secondary research and I've not heard from existing graduates or cohorts just yet. I thought to ask:
1) What are folks' thoughts on MFin vs MBA (for Asset Management or Management Consulting target) from European or US Schools? Would a post-experience MFin offer the same or equivalent placements?
2) Is the MBA worth the total investment (~$250k USD) in 2026?
3) What is the influence of Campus Selection on the overall experience? I've been looking into all regions (AMERS, European and Asia) for France, London, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the US campus locations as well.
4) How is poliics like ethnicity, and age considered in these applications?
