HELP Undergrad: Is UMich Ross worth 80k debt for International Student?

Hi everyone. I am a grade 12 high school student from Canada and intend to work in the US in the future. From this year's college admissions, I was lucky enough to get accepted to the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. I really want to attend the school; however, I calculated that I would* need to borrow up to $80k* in federal and private loans.

Currently I am reconsidering if it is worth for me to attend Ross for BBA. My intended career path is IB in New York. If I don't attend Ross, my other options are Western Ivey AEO, McGill Desautels, and Waterloo Business & Comp Sci dual degree program.

From research by looking at Ross's employment report, I do believe that if I graduate and go into IB successfully, I can repay my loan in 3-4 years - which is reasonable. But I don't know how realistic this is and** I need advice and suggestion** from other people ASAP!!

This is a very important and hard decision in my life so please give detailed, rational advice if possible, thanks!!

How much is is Michigan costing you total? Do you have to pay the full $65k per year sticker price?

If your goal is solely U.S IB I would recommend Ross to maximize your chances. Ivey numbers to the U.S have dropped significantly the past two years. Ivey refused to cooperate with the accelerated recruiting timelines of some firms so they flat out stopped OCR at Ivey. Think they’re sending ~10 kids compared to the ~30 they used to send down south. Would not recommend the Laurier/Waterloo DD unless you actually are passionate about comp sci. Unless you maintain a high gpa in that program, the dual degree itself will not turn heads for banking

80k for all 4 years? or 80k per year? If it's the total debt for your entire college experience I'd say go for Ross. If it's per year I'd say go for Ivey. If this were pre-2016 I'd say Ivey hands down regardless, but it's been increasingly difficult for Canadians to get visas to work in IB in the US. McGill isn't bad, but weaker than Ross and Ivey. Don't even consider Waterloo.

If you're a dual citizen I'd probably go for Ivey since you won't run into the visa issue and you won't be competing against so many people from your school. But if you need a visa then go with my above advice.
